Personality

Laphane is not a talker, and usually will remain in the background during negotations, unless really moved to interject. He can be seen, absentmindly fiddleing with his bow.

Background

Laphane was born and raised on the Isle of Insel. There he grew up with his parents and younger twin siblings (brother and sister). His dad was part of the Insel Military and an expert bowman. Laphane always admired his dad's skills and when he could first pick up a bow he practiced. His skilled were not that of his dad's. But he was never discouraged. He would practice, pretending to hunt all sorts of monsters.

Rumors of war started to spread throughout the region. Rumors of a mad person(?) bringing shadow creatures into the world, all this was taking place in Windfall Valley. Following these rumors a badn of human warriors came to his island. This group of humans was lead by Duke Eric (a person who would have more impact on young Laphane then he thought). This Duke was seeking warriors to travel to Windfall Valley to end this fight. Many of the elven warriors took up arms and bows and joined. One to join was Laphane's father. Laphane was excited and wanted to join them, but he was too young to join. Not to be deterred, Laphane snuck onto the supply wagon and was soon on his way to Windfall Valley.

It wasn't until they had reached Canton that his father found Laphane stowed away. Too late to send him back, his dad told him to stay with the food line in the back. "It will be dangerous when we get to Windfall, and I don't want you to get hurt." His dad said.

They reached Windfall Valley, and the battle broke out. Eager for action, Laphane stole a bow and raced off into battle. Inexperienced, he was quickly overwelmed, one creature shoved him to the ground, and as the creature went for the killing bow, he stopped and fell ontop on Laphane. An arrow sticking out of his back. His dad had saved his life.

His father had shot down the demon. He approaches Laphane "WHAT THE HELL YOU DOIN! I TOLD YOU TO-" but the words get cut off, as the demon slashed down on his father. The demon stared at Laphane. Suddenly, There was a massive explosion, that sent chunks of the upper floors of the tower flying, and a dark energy rushing through the valley. Continental Elves (who had also joined the fight) are dying all around in sheer agony. Some turning into foul creatures because of the sudden rush of shadow energy. In the confusion, Laphane escapes from demon, but it able to snag his father’s bow.

As the assembled armies are picking up the pieces, Lysander Ulgar unsuccessfully pleads with the remaining commanders to set up a watch of some type at the valley entrance. With Windfall in Gallantrian territory, the commanders remained unconvinced. Ulgar and his Elven Guard commit to staying, as do the surviving Continental Elves. The settlement they named "Nirvaset East". Laphane decides that his best action to honor his father is to remain in Windfall and become a master with the bow (like his father). He sends word back to his mother and siblings that he is staying in Windfall and also of the tragic death of his father.

Over the years, Laphane becomes a master hunter. Trained with the father’s bow, which gave magical properties and allowed Laphane to help his companions hit better. But the years were not all pleasant.

At night, Laphane was tortured with dreams of his father dieng and the demon staring over him. Laphane armed with the bow tried to strike down and kill the demon. All the demon did was laugh, and in the grunting voice say, “You dishonor your father, you are weak and don’t deserve the name Nasta!!” He would wake in a cold sweat before the demon could kill him.

After 30 years of training and protecting the Windfall Valley, a caravan came into town. This caravan carried a young man named Brysten Marcus, who, along with a friend of his, named Morgan Raintrees, are young proprietors in a trading caravan called the Lion's Trading Company. Marcus builds good rapport with the people of Nirvaset East.

Years later, when Brysten Marcus, who revealed himself to actually be Aldar Loshren, estranged king of Loshmere, gets his country back with the assistance of Bendroden Erulan, sends word to the people of Nirvaset East."hi. i need a decent tracker/guide to add to my court, maybe help train some of these new soldiers of mine. got anyone in mind?" Ulgar gets the letter, and decides it's time Laphane step out from his father's shadow and see the world. The reply to King Aldar is an elf with a bow, holding a letter that says "Here you go."

A few years after joining King Aldar’s court, a band of adventurers come. They are seeking the Prince. King Aldar, summons Laphane to help them hunt him down. They find the prince, along with ettercaps and spiders. After the rescue, Laphane is asked to accompany the band of adventurers to explore the world and make sure the prince returns to Canton City safely.
