Laphane Nasta

Who is this mysterious elf that is working with the party?

Personality

Still trying to learn about this new group he is working with.

Background

Laphane was born and raised on the Isle of Insel. There he grew up with his parents and younger twin siblings (brother and sister). His dad was part of the Insel Military and an expert bowman. Laphane always admired his dad's skills and when he could first pick up a bow he practiced. His skilled were not that of his dad's. But he was never discouraged. He would practice, predending to hunt all sorts of monsters.

Rumors of war started to spread throughout the region. Rumors of a mad person(?) bringing shadow creatures into the world, all this was taking place in Windfall Valley. Following these rumors a badn of human warriors came to his island. This group of humans was lead by Duke Eric (a person who would have more impact on young Laphane then he thought). This Duke was seeking warriors to travel to Windfall Valley to end this fight. Many of the elven warriors took up arms and bows and joined. One to join was Laphane's father. Laphane was excited and wanted to join them, but he was too young to join. Not to be deterred, Laphane snuck onto the supply wagon and was soon on his way to Windfall Valley.

It wasn't until they had reached Canton that his father found Laphane stowed away. Too late to send him back, his dad told him to stay with the food line in the back. "It will be dangerous when we get to Windfall, and I don't want you to get hurt." His dad said.

They reached Windfall Valley, and the battle broke out. Eager for action, Laphane stole a bow and raced off into battle. Inexperienced, he was quickly overwelmed, one creature shoved him to the ground, and as the creature went for the killing bow, he stopped and fell ontop on Laphane. An arrow sticking out of his back. His dad had saved his life.

As his dad pulled him out and started to yell at him for leaving the creature got up and slashed down on his dad, before collapsing from the loss of blood. Laphane was frozen with fear, and just held his dad in his arms. It was all his fault, his dad had died because he wouldn't listen. Moments later a cry rang out and the battle at Windfall had ended. But no joy for Laphane, he had lost his father and role-model.

The army gave the last rites to the fallen and buried them there. Laphane took his dad's greatbow with him as a memory of his dad. Duke Eric spoke with him about the loss. He understood what it was like to lose a loved on. The burden is hard, but don't let it destory you, use it and remember your father. (Little did Eric know he would have to do the same in the years to come.)

The journey back to Insel was restless, he keep having nightmares of his father dieing in his arms, and the demenated creature slaying him. Laphane would often wake in a cold sweat from these dreams. When he reached Insel, he told his mom and siblings what had happened.

The dreams continued, it was as if the creature was taunting him from beyond the grave. Laphane grew more restless, he practiced with his father's bow and learned how to better handle the weapon. As the years progressed, he grew more skilled as an archer and hunter. Something inside him, called out to Laphane. Laphane knew he must journey back to Windfall to seek peace. Telling his family was hard, his mom still mourning the loss of her husband, feared losing her oldest son. Laphane tried to calm her and would maintain contact.

Suddenly, things start getting rumbly, and pieces of windfall tower start shedding off. Then a massive explosion, that sends chunks of the upper floors of the tower flying, and a dark energy rushing through the valley.
