Story

The party continued to travel to return the prince to Canton City, haunted by the dream of the house and the vision each of them had of Saxon. When they reached a small town, deciding to stay to celebrate a holy day known as the "Day of Thanks". The town was so small, it didn't even have a name to it. The party noticed that most of the able-bodied men and women were gone, leaving only the young and elderly (some women had stayed to care for their children). The party assisted in preparations for the feast and other duties around the town. Norvaan chopped lumber, relieving an old lady who had taken up an axe and wedge. Laphane was given some grease and tasked with carefully applying it to the axles of the town's wagons. When asked, the townsfolks explained that many of the men and women had gone to join Duke Agueda's army. With this information the party continued on back to Canton City.

The party, seeing smoke on the plains, sensed something amiss. What they discovered was a village that had been ransacked by Agueda's army. The attack, coming during the middle of the harvest, was clearly done to gather food and other supplies. The party helped the village, by putting out fires and gathering what little they had left. After hiding the most valuable goods of the trade caravan in a house, they ordered the tradesmen and wagons to gather the refugees and seek shelter in Gallantria.

Entering the Breches des Drachen, the party noticed a difference in the environment, they also noted several flying creatures off in the distance. Before they could get thier bearings, the party was attacked by several drakes, lead by a larger drake. The ambush was costly as Ivon went down quickly, and Norvaan and Lapahne were attacked on the flank. After the initial ambush, the party adapted, changing their tactics and maneuvers, to overcome the initial strike. Laphane, worried about his horse, yelled for it to retreat. Norvaan ordered movement and attacks, while Oona was present in the thick of battle, where he felt right at home. Felling drake after drake, some retreated, fearing for their lives. Near the end of the fight, Adran vanished and appeared in mid-air, skewering a drake in mid-flight, and landing with grace and poise, dumped the creature off the end of his spear.

The party tracked the drakes to a lair, where they found some treasure (noted below).

Over the next few days of travel, things got a little rough, the party was hearing many rumors of a war getting ready to break out, but they continued on. As they approached another town, it had been seiged by an army who were flying the Banners of Agueda. The party, knowing they couldn't do anything, moved around the town, and kept an eye on the goings-on. When cleared, they knew they had to move cautiously through the forest. Adran moved on ahead, having bought himself a great steed of high caliber, and encountered a patrol group for King Eric, from the town of Esmoriz.

When the rest of the party was out of the forest, Norvaan and Ivon spoke to the leader and explained the siege, and army movements through the region. They also explained the loss of Saxon and how the Insel, Laphane, joined the party. The leader of the patrol gave us a token to identify ourselves as friends of the king, and they continued on to Canton City. When they arrived at Canton City, they quickly made their way to the castle, where Crown Prince Allen Carver was reunited with his father, the newly crowned King Eric.

The party has now decided to go to Danburg, in hopes of finding Saxon's family, the last wish of the young monk.
