The Canton Kingdom was ruled by King Eric II and shares the Windman Continent with the Gallantrian Empire
States of Canton
The Kingdom currently consists of 11 Vassal states, and one special regency that includes only the capital city of Canton.
Canton City
The Canton City is an independent city that doesn't fall under the jurisdiction of any of the Vassal States. It is ruled over by a mayor appointed by the king, who rules as Regent during any interregnum between one monarch's death and the next one's coronation.
Regent Thomas de Agueda
Sly and calculating, and prone to condescension, de Agueda is known to very carefully plan things before proceeding. He closely adheres to protocol, and rarely suffers any deviation from such. This helped him to be a highly effective Chamberlain.
Thomas de Agueda hails from the same family as Duke Ferdinand; they are cousins. Thomas began working for the king as court scribe, and his magical ability helped propel him through the ranks of the king's court, eventually being named Chamberlain last year. With the death of the King, de Agueda now, as custom dictates, acts as Regent until a new king is crowned – a process prolonged by a lack of an heir. Many thought the clear successor would be Duke Carver, until Thomas revealed a note, apparently signed by the king on his death bed, indicating Duke Ferdinand was the king's choice. It was found several weeks after that the note was forged by an ally of the Regent. He was quickly arrested and thrown into the island prison of Ondero just off the coast of Canton City.
Agueda
The largest state of the Canton Kingdom, Agueda is dominated by the Torian Mountain range. Major exports include iron and wool. Capital city is Vila Agueda.
Duke Ferdinand de Agueda
Persuasive and overbearing, Ferdinand tends to pressure people until he gets what he wants. He is capable of great charisma at times, and possesses a sharp wit.
Ferdinand has been lord of Agueda since his father's suicide 5 years ago. His short rule has seen the beginning of several projects to improve roads and ports and has overseen the undertaking of a major project to connect Agueda and Cordoba by way of a series of tunnels and mountain passes through the impassable Torian Mountains that would bypass the major trade routes along the northern cost of Canton. This has incensed many of the dwarves of the Torgarn Peak, who see the human noble as encroaching on their domain.
Duke Ferdinand is charismatic head of the long family line that has ruled the land of Agueda for centuries. His ancestor for whom is is named was the first lord to swear fealty to King Haldur, after the founding of the Canton Kingdom. Agueda has been ambitious in expanding his powers at home and allying himself with his neighboring states.
His biggest ally, however, is his cousin, Thomas De Agueda (age 42), the current regent. When Ferdinand inherited his father's title, one of his first acts was to send Thomas to King James as a gift of sorts. Thomas served the aging king as a scribe, and later the king promoted him to be his Chancellor. Over his year as chancellor, Thomas grew more and more responsible for the daily operations of the kingdom as King James became less able to govern. Thomas is known for his intelligence and as a shrewd negotiator. His father died during the greater races war, and he did not get along with Ferdinand's father - a dislike the two shared.
Pineborough
Pineborough's capital is the well known city of Danberg. Danberg is the largest city and port on the Hydrian coast in all of the Windman continent. Daily, tons of goods move through her port and onto caravans that spread across the whole of the Canton Kingdom, or are loaded onto ships for transport to northern Gallantrian ports such as West Gallans and the island of Avalon.
Duke Eric Carver
Silent and thoughtful, Carver believes, unless you have something meaningful to say, it's best not to say anything. Since the death of his wife during the Blackguard Haldrin's attack on Danburg, Carver has become more brooding and mournful.
Carver is a retired adventurer. He sold his father's bar in Danberg and used the money to fund an expedition to find a fabled artifact. That artifact served to spark off the Greater Races War, and since then he's been fighting, in some way or another, to better the lives of the people of Danberg. One of his few friends is Aloysius Piondargas, Duke of Andel Boum – a curious friendship, as Piondargas would seem to be the polar opposite of the quiet, morose Carver.

Andel Boum
Andel Boum has long been an ally to Pineborough. The capital city, Andel Boum, is a minor port city, who's major trade occurs with the Insel Elves. They maintain good relations with the Free Cities of Dallaall, sharing a common border with the undead wasteland left behind after the destruction of Riverkiel.
Duke Aloysius Piondargas
Loud and obnoxious Piondargas is widely considered a fop and a dandy. Tales of his lavish parties and excess travel the social circles of the Hydrian Coast of the Canton Kingdom. Piondargas enjoys the finer things in life, and his opulent mansion in the tiny city of Andel Boum stands as proof to that.
Piondargas is the latest in a line of nobles known for their excessive ways. He has come under fire, especially after most of the city was destroyed by the undead attacks of the blackguard Raintree, for his wild spending. Piondargas did, however, sell off a considerable portion of his remaining holdings to fund the reclamation and rebuilding of the city of Andel Boum.

This project, if completed would make travel over the currently impassable range possible.
Duchess Louisa Abrantes
Technical and Cold, Abrantes has proven to be proficient at ruling. She is very results orientated and believes in acting quickly, and boldly. This has not endeared her to her subjects, though she always unflinchingly makes what she sees as the correct decisions, no matter how unpopular.
Abrantes has ruled Cordoba since she was 15 after her father's death fighting at Windfall during in the Greater Races War. Cordoba was quickly rebuilt during her reign, despite the heavy destruction caused by Hayze's invading army.
